Our second group of visitors left this morning. Nathanael came back inside crying after saying goodbye to Gary and Debbie, our NC parents. We had a wonderful week with them. Last Friday, Gary and Brian went snowshoeing on Owl's Head while Debbie, Allison and the kids went to Katie's second checkup. She has gained 2 pounds since her birth. On Saturday, we had dinner in Montpelier and traveled to Stowe to watch the fireworks and a torch parade of skiers down the mountain. Sunday was wonderful! Brian was ordained and Gary was able to preach the charge to him. He is officially a Reverend.

Sunday night it snowed just a few inches, but Gary and Debbie woke up excited to see the fresh covering. It was warm for VT, so we went out to play that day! :) Nathanael (with a little help from Mom and Debbie) made cupcakes for Gary's Birthday (which was in Dec) and sang to him!
We also travelled to Waterbury to Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Ben and Jerry's and the Cabot outlet. I began a conversation with an employee in a store in Waterbury and as we began talking about our family moving to Waterbury and starting a Bible study, we were interrupted by a customer. We will take Brian's mom back to the same store next week. Hopefully, she will be working again. Nathanael helped break the ice with her. I am thankful for our children, which I believe God will use to help us minister to the people in Waterbury. I was also reminded as we drove around town the challenge it is going to be to serve there. We will be preparing pamphlets, presentations and hopefully a video in the next few weeks to share with churches in VA, NC and SC in March to encourage people to pray, go and give!
WOW. What an adventure! We are praying GOD will use each of you beyond any of our comprehension.
ReplyDeleteNathaniel is quite the charmer. Savannah still talks about him. He may singlehandedly take on the state of Vermont. He exudes the love of Christ in an innocent way. He has a lot of Papaw in his personality. He would be very proud of him, as are we!
Congratulations to Brian!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see your pictures and see how God is blessing you in Vermont!
Love always,
